The electronic travel permit system compares data with databases of various police authorities. All travelers wishing to enter the United States under the Visa Waiver Program must request an electronic travel authorization through this system before boarding the aircraft.

If your electronic travel permit application is approved, it means that you are eligible to travel, but it does not mean that you are approved to enter the United States under the Visa Waiver Program. When you arrive in the United States, you will be checked in at the airport by a U.S. customs and border controller who may determine that you are not eligible under the Visa Waiver Program or for any other reason under the U.S. legislation.

A decision that you are not eligible for an electronic travel permit does not exclude you from applying for a visa to travel to the United States.

All information provided by yourself or on your behalf by third parties must be true and correct. An electronic travel permit can be revoked at any time and for any reason, such as on the basis of new information that changes the qualification. You may be subject to administrative or criminal penalties if you knowingly intentionally make a material false, fabricated or fraudulent statement or fabrication in an electronic travel authorization application submitted by yourself or on your behalf.

WARNING: If you are approved to enter the United States under the Visa Waiver Program by a U.S. customs and border control, you may not accept unauthorized work or study or represent the foreign press during your visit. You may not apply for: 1) change of non-immigrant status, 2) an extension of the stay, or 3) change of status to temporary or permanent residence permit unless you qualify according to. section 245 (c) (4) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Violation of these terms will result in your being DEPOSITED.
